We are a small, femme-owned and operated studio. At Authentic Body Control, we keep things intimate and community focused by making sure you can get the support you need during our classes. Reformer pilates and chair classes max at 5 people and group mat classes max at 20 people. We have a community reformer pilates class to keep it accessible. Every community member has the right to feel safe and respected. We do not tolerate oppressive behavior or discrimination of any kind. We are a community free of judgment, assumption and shame. Please refrain from commenting on someone’s physical appearance, even if you think it is a compliment. If anyone makes you feel unsafe at the studio, please notify a trainer. If a trainer makes you feel unsafe, bring this to the attention of a different trainer.

Our code of conduct

  • Grace is the founder of Sweat Body, a perfectionist recovery dance aerobics class that is designed to be a liberating workout. Techniques from dance, fitness and mindfulness are combined to help improve body awareness, acceptance ad expression. She also teaches myofascial stretching, where a precise method is applie to support your body’s mobility.

  • Nicole has over 10 years experience teaching Reformer and Mat Pilates, has a Masters in Nutrition, studied Osteopathy (postponed for now) and is currently and permanently diving into dance as another way to explore the body. Nicole's classes combine a strong workout and subtle attention, seeking to strengthen the muscular system but mostly motivated by encouraging the active discovery of new movement possibilities. Nicole embraces the idea that movement informs and helps develop further thought and reflection about our position in a specific space and the context we live in

  • Chihyun is a certified pilates and yoga instructor from New York and has completed training in ELDOA Levels 1-3 and myofascial stretching.

  • Hendrik Hebben is originally from Saarbrücken, Germany. He got in touch with dance during his exchange year in the USA in 2010. He studied Classical and Contemporary Dance in Frankfurt, where got in touch with somatic practices and Pilates. In 2020, he completed his Pilates Mat certification at the Kelly Kane School in New York. He has been taking the Flexibility Masters Program Course and the ELDOA Level 1 and 2 and other workshops to deepen his knowledge.

  • Ina is classically trained Pilates instructor with a background in dancing, focusing on body awareness.

  • Jess started her Pilates journey back in 2016 in her hometown of Los Angeles with Megaformers. After moving to Berlin in 2017, Jess was then introduced to Classical exercises taught on the Reformer. In 2021, she decided to further her learning through the "Body in Balance" Ausbildung. As someone who works in an office, Jess understands the importance of prioritising mobility while teaching. Jess hopes that clients leave every class feeling inspired, accomplished, and a little sweaty

  • Margarita is a Pilates instructor and physiotherapist, specializing in neurodegenerative diseases. With a dancing background, she experiments with various movement techniques. She is also a level 2 ELDOA practitioner.

  • Maria Rosa, originally from Argentina, is a certified Pilates teacher with a background in acting. In 2017 she completed an intensive training in the Alexander Technique. In her teaching, all these components translate into a constant exploration: movement research, with a focus on body awareness. Maria Rosa creates dynamic classes with a foundation of classic Pilates-elements, yet always with a contemporary approach, tuning every session to be powerful, engaging and fun.

  • Miri is a professional physiotherapist, especially fascinated by holistic views of the body and movement.

  • Ruby Frances Jones (USA) has worked as a freelance dancer and yoga teacher for five years. Ruby holds an undergraduate degree in dance from The London Contemporary Dance School in the UK, and has has studied under teachers of multiple backgrounds and schools of yoga for over ten years. Ruby’s workouts are dynamic and sweaty, drawing from a variety of disciplines including yoga, barre, pilates, and HIIT.

  • Sarah Michelle is a classically trained Pilates instructor, ELDOA trainer, SOMA Training student and ELDOA teacher trainer

  • Stacey is a classically trained Pilates teacher that works on the mat and the machines. Additionally, she has completed SOMA training courses including special abdominal training and myofascial stretching.

  • Yuna is a Basi Pilates trained teacher, and an ELDOA Level 2 trainer originally from Japan. She delved into tennis and soccer in the past that made her face injuries and poor posture. Pilates became her chosen path to health, and she is passionate about sharing its transformative power. What she loves the most about Pilates is its focus on overall health, addressing both physical and mental well-being.
